CamScanner for PC: Latest Version Download and Windows Guide

4.7/5
You can use CamScanner on a computer without installing a separate Windows scanner program. The official website lets you sign in from a browser, while an Android emulator can run the mobile app on Windows.
This guide shows you how to use CamScanner for PC, download it through an emulator, access your account online, compare Free and Premium plans, and choose the right setup for your computer.
What is CamScanner For PC?
CamScanner is a document scanning, OCR, PDF creation, and file management service developed by INTSIG Information Co., Ltd. Its main apps are available for Android and iOS, while computer users can access CamScanner through its official web dashboard.
The browser option is enough for many users who want to manage documents, use PDF tools, or convert files on a larger screen. If you want the Android app itself, you can install an emulator and then download CamScanner inside it.
CamScanner is used around the world, with Google Play currently showing more than 500 million downloads and the company reporting more than 300 million users across 200+ countries.
Scan Documents Without Much Hassle
A phone is usually better for taking the original photo because you can point its camera directly at the document. Once the scan is ready, a computer gives you a much larger screen for checking pages, editing files, and organizing your documents.
CamScanner can detect document edges, clean up backgrounds, flatten pages, and recognize text with OCR. It also supports documents such as receipts, business cards, forms, notes, slides, and whiteboards.
Features of CamScanner For PC
CamScanner has tools for scanning, OCR, PDF editing, cloud storage, file conversion, signatures, and document sharing. Some features are available only with a paid plan.
OCR and Text Recognition
OCR recognizes text inside a scanned document, allowing you to search or copy the detected content. CamScanner supports multiple languages, while some OCR functions are tied to the account plan.
Premium users also receive monthly credits for translation and cloud OCR.
PDF and File Conversion
You can create PDFs from scanned pages and convert documents between several formats. CamScanner supports tools involving PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPG, and text.
AI Image Enhancement
CamScanner includes background removal and page flattening tools for cleaning up photographed documents. These are useful when a page has a visible desk, uneven edges, or a curved appearance.
Cloud Sync
Your CamScanner account can keep supported documents available across devices. Premium users can connect services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, and Evernote for cloud uploads.
Fax and Sharing
CamScanner includes fax tools for supported destinations, with the company stating that faxing is available in 30+ countries.
The Android app has also received newer features in 2026. Its August 28 Google Play update added Markdown document editing and Slides mode.
Signatures and Editing
You can annotate documents, edit supported files, and add electronic signatures. Premium also adds more options for document protection and sharing.
What is an Emulator?
An Android emulator lets you run Android applications inside Windows. After installing one, you can open Google Play, search for CamScanner, and install the app just as you would on an Android phone.
The four commonly used choices are BlueStacks, LDPlayer, NoxPlayer, and MEmu. You only need one, so I’d start with BlueStacks unless your PC has a reason to use another option.
Download CamScanner on a PC Without an Emulator
Use From the Official Website
Follow these steps to use CamScanner directly from your browser:
Step 1: Open Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or another current browser.
Step 2: Visit the official CamScanner website.
Step 3: Click Login and enter your CamScanner account details.
Step 4: Open the dashboard after signing in.
Step 5: Select the document or online tool you want to use.
You don’t need to install an APK, emulator, or Windows EXE for this method.
Download From Microsoft
If you want to check Microsoft Store availability, you can search for CamScanner directly from Windows.
Step 1: Open the Microsoft Store on your Windows PC.
Step 2: Click the search box at the top.
Step 3: Type CamScanner. Look for the CamScanner listing from the correct publisher.
Step 4: Open the listing and check the publisher information.
Step 5: Click Get or Install if an official listing is available.
Step 6: Wait for Windows to finish the installation.
Step 7: Open the app from the Start menu.
If you don’t find a current official CamScanner listing, don’t download an unrelated program with a similar name. Use the official web dashboard or the emulator method below instead.
Download CamScanner on a PC Using an Emulator
Running the Android version requires two installations: first the emulator, then CamScanner inside the emulator.
BlueStacks is the one I’d try first because the setup is simple and Google Play is built into the normal installation. If it doesn’t suit your computer, LDPlayer, NoxPlayer, and MEmu are other options.
Download CamScanner Using BlueStacks
You can then use the Android application inside the BlueStacks window.
Download CamScanner Using LDPlayer
LDPlayer follows almost the same setup.
If LDPlayer runs better on your PC than BlueStacks, there is no reason to switch just for the sake of using another emulator.
Download CamScanner Using NoxPlayer
You can install CamScanner through NoxPlayer in a few steps.
NoxPlayer is fine for this purpose, but I wouldn’t install it if you already have another emulator working properly.
Download CamScanner Using MEmu
MEmu also lets you install the Android application through Google Play.
You don’t need all four emulators. Install one, test CamScanner, and only try another if the first one gives you performance or compatibility problems.
How to Use CamScanner For PC With Emulator
Once the application is installed, open it from the emulator and sign in to your CamScanner account. You can then use the Android interface with your computer’s mouse and keyboard.
If you have a legitimate APK that you need to install manually, most major Android emulators also provide an APK installation option. Be careful with APK sources, especially files advertised as cracked or modified versions.
If you’re researching the modified Android version, see our camscanner mod apk.
CamScanner Free vs Premium
The free version is enough for occasional scanning, while Premium makes more sense if you use CamScanner regularly or need more cloud space. The official service currently lists 200 MB of cloud storage for standard accounts and 10 GB for Premium.
| Feature | Free / Standard | Premium |
| Document scanning | Yes | Yes |
| PDF creation | Yes | Yes |
| Cloud storage | 200 MB | 10 GB |
| OCR | Limited | Expanded |
| Watermark removal | Limited | Available |
| Batch processing | Limited | Expanded |
| Cloud integrations | Limited | Expanded |
| PDF protection | Limited | Available |
| E signatures | Limited | Expanded |
| Translation and cloud OCR | Limited | 1,000 monthly credits |
| Collaboration | Limited | Up to 40+ collaborators |
CamScanner Premium Price
CamScanner does not have one universal price for every country and platform. Apple’s current listing shows Premium at about $4.99 per month, with annual pricing around $35.99 for the first year and $49.99 afterward.
| Billing option | Current listed price* |
| Monthly | About $4.99/month |
| Annual first year | About $35.99/year |
| Annual after first year | About $49.99/year |
| Free plan | $0 |
| Premium storage | 10 GB |
*Prices can change by country, platform, promotion, or subscription offer. Check the price shown in your account before purchasing.
If you only scan a few documents each month, I’d stay with the free plan. Premium becomes easier to justify when you need the extra storage, OCR, cloud connections, or document tools.
CamScanner also offers a Business plan with features such as team folders, administrator controls, and storage for team members.
System Requirements
The requirements are different for browser access and an emulator. The browser method is light on system resources, while an emulator needs additional RAM, storage, and processor capacity.
The figures below are practical starting points for an emulator rather than official CamScanner requirements.
| Requirement | Browser access | Android emulator |
| Operating system | Windows 10/11 recommended | Windows 10/11 recommended |
| RAM | 4 GB or more | 4 GB or more |
| Free storage | 2 GB+ recommended | Around 10 GB+ |
| Processor | Modern Intel or AMD | Modern Intel or AMD |
| Virtualization | Not required | Recommended |
| Graphics | Standard integrated graphics | Updated graphics drivers recommended |
| Internet | Required for online features | Required for Play Store and cloud features |
If your computer already feels slow with Chrome and a few open tabs, I’d avoid an emulator. The website will put far less pressure on the machine.
Windows 7 can be troublesome with newer browsers and emulator releases, so I would not build a new CamScanner setup around an old Windows 7 PC.
Pros and Cons of CamScanner For PC
PROS
Cons
Is CamScanner Safe on PC?
CamScanner had a security incident in 2019. Kaspersky researchers found a malicious advertising SDK inside a version of the Android application, and the app was temporarily removed from Google Play.
The issue was addressed and the application later returned to the Play Store. That history is a good reason to pay attention to where you download the software.
For PC use, stick with the official CamScanner website, Microsoft Store when a current official listing is available, or Google Play inside a trusted emulator. I would avoid random EXE files and cracked APKs from unknown websites.
CamScanner Alternatives for Windows
If you want a proper desktop scanning program, you don’t need to run an Android app at all.
NAPS2
NAPS2 is my first pick for a free Windows scanning program. It is open source and works on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
It makes more sense than an emulator when you have a physical scanner connected to your computer and want software designed specifically for desktop scanning.
Adobe Scan
Adobe Scan is mainly built around mobile document capture. It can be a good fit if you already use Adobe’s document ecosystem.
Microsoft Lens
Microsoft Lens focuses on capturing documents, notes, whiteboards, and similar material. It is worth considering for users already working with Microsoft services.
Genius Scan
Genius Scan focuses on mobile scanning and PDF creation. It is another option if your main scanning device is a phone.
For a Windows PC with a physical scanner, I’d choose NAPS2 before setting up an emulator just to run CamScanner.
FAQ‘s
Conclusion
For ordinary computer use, I’d start with the official CamScanner website. It takes a few seconds to open, needs no emulator, and gives you access to the web tools tied to your account. If you specifically want the Android application, install one emulator rather than trying all four. BlueStacks would be my first attempt, with LDPlayer as the next option if performance is not good.
If what you really need is desktop scanner software, NAPS2 is the better fit. There is no reason to add an Android layer to your PC when a dedicated Windows scanner program already does the job. If you’re looking for an earlier release of the app, visit our camscanner old version guide.
